I’ve almost finished my Leahlani Skincare Aloha Ambrosia Morning Moisture Elixir and I’m so torn – on one hand it’s an amazing SOS ingredient for dry skin (it makes the biggest difference in healing the dermatitis around my eyes) but, on the other hand, it looks greasy, it feels greasy, it never fully absorbs into my skin, and it has a heavy floral scent.

Stratia – Velvet Cleansing Milk – Review

In a Few Words:
A simple, creamy, and hydrating cleanser.

Stratia’s Velvet Cleansing Milk is “a moisturizing, non-foaming cleanser that gently removes dirt and grime without drying or damaging your skin’s natural barrier. Velvet Cleansing Milk is a rich, emollient cream cleanser that effectively removes dirt, grime, and other buildup while leaving your skin’s natural oils in place. Its cleansing power comes from Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, a water-soluble form of olive oil that gently bonds to grime on your face and rinses cleanly away. Fortified with chamomile, aloe, and rice bran oil, it’s a soothing, purifying cleanser that won’t dry out your skin or leave a film. Velvet Cleansing Milk is fantastic for skin that’s dry to normal, and/or skin that’s sensitive or prone to irritation. It may not provide enough cleansing power for very oily skin.
If you use the double cleansing method, Velvet Cleansing Milk is a second cleanser. It’s strong enough to remove sunscreen and light makeup, but if you wear full-face or waterproof makeup, it’s best to start with an oil-based cleanser or micellar water. “

It comes in a 4 oz plastic bottle with a pump and sells for $15.00.

This cleanser is unscented, simple, and yet completely enjoyable. Stratia’s Velvet Cleansing Milk is one of my favorite face washes because it is hands down the most moisturizing cleanser I have. I agree that is not enough to take off a full face of makeup and I use it as a second cleanse or as a morning cleanse. I don’t like that it has mineral oil in it (C13-14 Isoparaffin). My skin doesn’t have a problem with it, but I wouldn’t recommend it to someone with sensitive skin because of the mineral oil. I also don’t like that it only comes in a 4 oz bottle – a normal human who uses the same routine every day would absolutely blow through this in less than a month. But the size is a trade off for the low price tag – part with less money, get less product. There honestly isn’t much to say about this face wash because it is just so basic, but that is why I love it!

I love this cleanser and would recommend it to most people – if you are ok with mineral oils.

I used Advanced Night Repair 3-4 nights a week just before my moisturizer and applied it by pressing it into my skin. I used the entire 1 oz bottle over the span of about 2 months… and I’m so glad it’s gone. I did not like this serum, but before I give my opinion, I feel like I need to add a few caviots: I know anti-aging serums are long term products and are not overnight miracle workers and I acknowledge that I (28 year old) am probably not the target demographic. But, first of all, this iconic, $65.00 serum comes in a plastic, PLASTIC bottle and it feels cheap. Not cool. I could get over that if the serum itself did anything for me, but it didn’t. I was hoping to see more radiance and an increase in healing time for my acne/acne marks, but I honestly noticed zero difference in my skin. It did lay well with all of my other skincare products and it mixed well with other serums and oils. It was hydrating, but not any more so than any other serums/oils.

This product may be great for mature skin, but pass on it if you’re under 30.
