An oily eye cream for very dry, irritated eyes .

Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balmis a “multitasking miracle balm specially designed for the sensitive skin around the eyes. Mango seed butter dramatically diminishes appearance of dark circles, while calendula oil, beeswax, and lavender oil increase skin’s elasticity”. The eye balm comes in a glass pot, has 0.5 oz of product, and sells for $42.00.

 The Takeaway

I bought my Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balm on Amazon’s Luxury Beauty page (that is the legit part of the Amazon marketplace where you can be sure you are buying from a reliable source, versus finding an incredible and shady deal on a product that usually sells for twice as much). I have had mine for 3 months, I use it 1-2 times a day, and have used maybe half the pot. I chose this eye balm because I was using prescription Retin-A and was having problems with really dry, almost burning areas around my eye (I never apply Retin-A around my eyes, the prescription just dries the hell out of your whole face). I started by using rose hip oil with my normal eye cream on the irritated areas but decided to change up eye creams and figured  an oily balm would be more hydrating than your average eye cream. The Calendula Eye Balm did not cause any clogged pores or milia and was very hydrating and soothing. Since using this balm, I don’t experience painfully dry eyes anymore. It is not greasy at all and I never had a problem applying makeup on top of it but it does take a long time to absorb into the skin.

I do think that if you don’t have really dry eyes from treatments or weather (wintertime) or if you have oily skin, then this will probably be way too heavy for you. Also, the smell is horrendous; it smells straight-up like Chinese carry-out (which is awesome to smell at your kitchen table, not too appealing at 5 am on your face). But, the smell is not a deal breaker because as long as I am using Retin-A, I will keep buying this eye balm.

This eye balm may be too heavy for some, but it is very hydrating and soothing to extremely dry eye areas.

🌿This was my 3rd time using the sample of the Tara Harper Clarifying Mask and I’m not really impressed. I haven’t seen any amazing results 🤷🏻‍♀️I still have some left so I’ll keep trying it out.

Tonight is retinol night so I tried to keep everything else simple, hydrating and nourishing.

Not pictured is makeup removal with Heimish All Clean Balm.

I cleansed with Stratia Velvet Cleansing Milk.

Acid tonight was Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid (I prefer this over an AHA when I am using retinol).

Hydrating toner was Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner. Normally, I would do the Seven Skin Method, but tonight was about a four-ish skin method … I was in too much of a hurry for all seven layers.

Next, I used a thin layer of prescription Tretinoin 0.05%.

Followed by my favorite Indie Lee Calendula Eye Balm focused on the corners of my eyes where I can get very dry.

Finally, I took one pump of Stratia Liquid Gold mixed with four drops of Deciem’s The Ordinary Rose Hip Seed Oil for extra hydration.
